New Referrals
Do you have a Referral from your DSHS caseworker to attend WorkFirst approved training at Highline Community College?
--If you're a WorkFirst parent receiving TANF assistance (cash from DSHS), you will need to meet with your caseworker to request a referral to Highline (RA 3AN).
Mandatory to attend:
WorkForce/WorkFirst Orientation:
Friday, 1:00-3:00 pm, Bldg. 10, room 103
AND
Pre-Advising Workshop:
Monday, 9:30-11:00 am, Bldg. 10, room 207
Registering and Enrolling:
Complete HCC application and turn into Bldg. 6 at the front desk (First floor, Entry Services desk)

You will be issued a SID # (Student Identification Number).

Go to Women's/WorkFirst Office and have your application fee paid for by the front desk.

Cashier's Office will print out a receipt for you.

This receipt you will use to take your compass test and get your SID card (No SID card without class registration)

Complete an ADD/Drop form with Robyn Richins/Life Skills Instructor to register for the ABE 019 Life Skills course. This will allow you to get your SID card (Student ID)

Create your MyHCC account in Bldg. 30, you will need this to access your courses through ANGEL and receive important campus wide emails.

Identity and strengths activity
-
Choose Certificate (1 year or less)/Print out the degree planning sheet

Identify emergency back up plan for childcare, transportation and housing

Complete intake file at Women's Programs/WorkFirst Office: Bldg. 6,next to Security

Register for classes, if tuition is due ask WorkFirst Office to put a HOLD on your classes

Schedule appointment with a WorkFirst Advisor at Women's Programs/WorkFirst Office at: 206 878 3710 x 3340

Book Account: approximate date for availability to access your account at the book store will be given to you at your advising appointment
