WorkFirst Overview
The WorkFirst program supports recipients of Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) cash assistance from Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS), who need educational training in order to enter the workforce.
Eligible students may receive funding for required tuition, books, school supplies and fees, parking permit, and request monthly support funds for non-academic needs.
- Student parent receiving Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) cash benefits from DSHS.
- Pursuing any of the following approved program of of studies:
- College Navigation: Admissions, Canvas, ctcLink
- Academic Pathway Exploration & Advising
- WorkFirst Work-Study (Paid on-campus student employment)
- Life Skills
- Child Care
- Uniform/Interview Clothing
- Personal Hygiene and/or Haircut
- Medical Costs or Exam Fees
- Gas/Fuel, Bus, Train or Ferry Cards
- Driver’s License & ID Fees
- Credential & Testing Fees
- Emergency Funds
