WorkFirst Services

  • To get enroll in our TANF/WorkFirst funding services, please contact your local DSHS office or your assigned case manager to send a WorkFirst Referral (3AN) to Highline College.
  • After applying for admissions you’ll receive an email to activate your ctcLink and student email account.
  • What is ctcLink? This is an online student portal where you can register for classes, view your grades and tuition balance. You’ll also have access to other personalized web resources that you’ll need to start your schoolwork
  • Why do I need a Highline student email account?
To protect our student’s privacy and records, most instructors and departments on campus will send important and confidential messages to your student email. There will be times when you have to digitally sign or upload documents across campus that’ll require you to login with your student email.
  • Need help activating your account? Contact IT-Help Desk at (206) 592-4357 / helpdesk@highline.edu
  • The goal of placement is to get you into classes that are best suited for your skills and abilities. Your math (MyMath) and reading (Accuplacer) scores will determine the classes you will begin with.
  • Some short-term certificates do not require placement.
  • Questions? Contact Placement & Testing Center at (206) 592-3251 / placement@highline.edu
  • To enroll for classes please log into your ctcLink Student Portal.
  • If you need assistance, you can meet with an Academic Advisors to explore different career paths, register for classes, substitute classes, and create a class plan. This plan will outline what classes you’ll need to take to be on track to graduate.
  • Questions? Contact Entry Advising at (206) 592-3620 / entryadvising@highline.edu
  • Once we receive your DSHS WorkFirst Referral, please schedule a virtual Zoom or in-person appointment with your assigned WorkFirst Advisor (based on your last name).
  • During your appointment, you’ll complete our Tuition Assistance form, we’ll discuss which degrees and certificates we cover, support services offered, mandatory DSHS weekly attendance, and how to maintain your TANF benefits while in school.
